Although I usually gravitate towards items that have an urban, edgy, or slightly hippie-chic vibe, lately I have been jonesing for pieces with a decidedly pretty, feminine feel, as evidenced by a few of my latest purchases:

With a (well-deserved) spring break just around the corner, I find myself dreaming of lovely, lazy mornings complete with all my favorite indulgences: whimsical pajamas, tv in bed, and homemade breakfasts. I can hardly wait to have a few refreshing days off to lounge around, try out some new recipes (like the amazing-looking french toast below!), and work on some jewelry projects I've been meaning to get to.

snow day

A couple of weekends ago, we got our second honest-to-goodness snowfall of the season. This winter has been incredibly mild, and I for one am loving it. Last year, our first snow was in October, and it still makes me want to throw up when I think about it. I had to study all weekend, so the snow did not hinder my plans at all, and I actually quite enjoyed it. (This is a statement you will rarely hear uttered from my lips. I normally speak of snow, and winter in general, as the weather-equivalent of the plague.) To celebrate, I took my camera out with me for a little jaunt on the neighborhood trail. If the place you call home doesn’t have snow yet (or ever), hopefully these snapshots can help you get in the winter spirit, minus the hazardous icy trails and freezing cold appendages.

haircut

I have long worn my hair somewhere south of the middle of my back, but for the last few months I have been craving something new and shorter. Although I am not contemplating a drastic change (no pixie cuts here!), I have been held back by a desperate fear that I will hate my shorter haircut from the moment the first snipped lock falls on the floor and spend the next two years growing my hair back out in regret. Well, I have decided to take a chance and go for something a bit fresher, more refined, and... spring-ier. Here's my inspiration:

Please excuse my almost month-long absence. School has been crazy lately (we're in the throws of midterms already!) and what little free time I've had I spent making sure I didn't fall behind in the world of reality TV. That's right, I neglected blogging in favor of Dance Moms. But I'm back now and hopefully in the future I'll be better about balancing.
